| Student Life
A typical day at Blair begins with breakfast in the dining room with fellow students and faculty. Classes start at 8 a.m. and continue through the day until 3 p.m. everyday except Sundays, with half days on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The school assembles as a community three times each week for school meetings and Chapel, and there is time devoted each day for activities, music, teacher conferences or student/advisor meetings.
Afternoons
Afternoons are reserved for athletics and extracurricular activities. The goal of the athletic program at Blair is to combine healthy, physical development with the valuable life lessons of sportsmanship, teamwork and fair play. Every Blair student is required to take part in some form of athletics, either through interscholastic competitions or a sports alternative. The many options include swimming, golf, weight lifting, squash, and an expanding variety of aerobics and dance activities.
Sports begin in the afternoon when the class day ends. Students and faculty reconvene in the gym or on the playing field, as most faculty members dedicate their afternoons to coaching a sport. Many students who have learned a sport at Blair go on to play at the collegiate level.
Dinners
Several nights a week, the Blair family sits down to dinner together. Students are required to dress formally (skirts and dresses for girls, coats and ties for boys) and are seated with faculty families and other students on a rotating basis. An important tradition at Blair, dinners foster the strong sense of community and family that is fundamental to our school and provides opportunities to meet everyone in the school.

Weekends might be a little less structured than weekdays, but that doesnt mean students are any less active! The campus bustles with activity, including sporting events, student theater productions, off-campus trips, dances and various forms of entertainment.
