Autumn Open House

On Saturday, October 6, the admission office hosted its fall open house and welcomed over 350 prospective students and parents to campus for a closer look at life at Blair. The annual event included a welcome by Headmaster Chan Hardwick and a “snapshot” of the Blair experience presented by four faculty members and five students. Faculty speakers were Rachel Stone, dean of faculty; Andrew Sykes, history teacher, monitor and housemaster; Craig Evans, chairman of the performing arts department, and Jim Stone, director of athletics. Student panelists included Lotte Lijnzaad ’09, Adam Hogue ’09, Asia Bryant ’10, Stephen Patane ’09 and Francesca Nestande ’10. Barbara Haase, dean of admission, also provided an overview of the Blair application process and outlined important upcoming admission dates for the families in attendance. The program concluded with campus tours and an invitation to a buffet luncheon in the Romano Dining Hall.
