Blair Defeats Kennedy Kenrick - 4/16
Blair won its fourth baseball game of the season in a 12-6 victory over Kennedy Kenrick of Norristown, PA. The Bucs jumped out to an early lead with four runs in the first inning on hits from Ty Johnston, Dustin Minore and Ben Browning. Blair added two more in the second and five in the fourth to make the score 11-1. Kennedy Kenrick made a comeback in the fifth inning plating five runs, but didn’t get any closer. Ty Johnston picked up the win for Blair and Richard Kurth earned the save while pitching three innings in relief. Big hitters for Blair included: Dustin Minore who went three for three with a triple and three RBIs; Kevin Brewster two for three, and Ben Browning belted a three run double. Blair’s record is 4-2.

Blair Wins a Slugfest over Hill - 4/13
Blair won its first MAPL league of the season in a 16-15 shootout vs Hill. The combination of good hitting and weak pitching led to a wild finish in Pottstown, PA on Wednesday. The Bucs jumped out to a 7-0 lead and then gave back six in the bottom of the second, and that’s the way things went all afternoon. Blair would score runs in the top of the inning and Hill would bounce right back to add to their score in the bottom. No lead was safe. Hill came within one run in the bottom of the sixth, but was never able to tie the score, when Ty Johnston came in to get the save for Blair retiring the last four hitters. Kurt Socha got the win for the Bucs pitching three and tho-thirds innings. Blair had several players with big days at the plate that produced 15 hits and 16 runs, led by Captain Brad Weiss who went four for five with three RBIs and a homerun. Dustin Minore added a three run homerun along with two other hits and four RBIs. Kevin Brewster also had four RBIs on three hits. Brian Baudinet had two doubles and Rich Doyle added a two run homerun to round out the hitting for Blair. The win brings the Bucs record to 3-2 and 1-1 in the MAPL.

Blair Defeats PDS - 4/12
Blair Academy evened its record at 2-2 with a win 6-3 win over Princeton Day on Monday. Blair got off to a strong start scoring three runs in the first inning off of hits from Ty Johnston, Brian Baudinet, and Dustin Minore. Chris Makrinos added two hits and an RBI to Blair’s offensive attack. Senior lefthander Richard Kurth went the whole way on the mound for Blair, pitching a three hit gem. Kurth struck out 14 P.D.S. hitters on the day.

Blair Loses to the Big Red - 4/9
What started out to be a great game with two strong pitching performances, turned into a rout for Lawrenceville. Ty Johnston for Blair and Jeff Murdza for Lawrenceville had a great pitching dual going for three innings and then Blair’s defense fell apart. Blair made six defensive errors and gave away any chance of victory against a strong Lawrenceville team and the fine pitching of Jeff Murdza. Tom Chalupa had a double for Blair in the 11-1 defeat.

Blair Drops a game to Pequannock - 4/6
Kurt Socha pitched five strong innings for Blair giving up only three hits to Pequannock H.S. in a 4-1 loss. Blair could muster only six hits and left nine runners on base on their way to the teams first loss of the year. Brian Baudinet led the Bucs offensive attack with two hits and Richie Doyle added an RBI single.

4/1/05 - Blair Baseball Wins Opener
Blair opened the 2005 season with a 9-4 victory over Notre Dame of Stroudsburg, PA.. Senior pitcher Ty Johnston picked up the win for the Bucs, pitching four innings in relief. Johnston struck out eight Notre Dame batters along the way. Offensively, Blair was led by Junior Ben Browning who was two for four at the plate with three RBIs. Dustin Minore and Rich Doyle added two hits apiece and Kurt Socha belted a solo homerun.
