| Boys’ Basketball Blair Athletes Are Going Places

Blair Academy athletes have signed letters of intent with major college programs in both basketball and wrestling this month.
Patrick Hazel and Alex Wangmene of Blair Academy have signed national letters of intent to play basketball at Division I college programs in major conferences. Hazel signed with Marquette University of the Big East and Wangmene signed with the University of Texas of the Big 12, where Royal Ivey of Blair played on a Final Four team.
Also, Julius Coles of Blair signed with Canisius College of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
Blair Academy Head Basketball Coach Joe Mantegna announced the signings on Nov. 8.
Recent Blair Academy graduates Luol Deng and Charlie Villanueva are currently starters in the National Basketball Association. Deng, who attended Duke University, is now with the Chicago Bulls and Villanueva, who played on a national champion at the University of Connecticut in 2004, is with the Milwaukee Bucks.
