About Sue Altman, Head Girls Basketball Coach
Sue Altman joined Blair in 2007. A 2004 graduate of Columbia University, Altman was named First Team All-Ivy and First Team Academic All-Ivy. She was the Lions’ leading scorer and team MVP both her junior and senior years. Altman also ran one season for the nationally-ranked Columbia Cross Country team, where she was named All-Metropolitan. After graduation, Altman continued her career professionally in Europe, playing in Ireland, where she was top scorer in the league, and Germany, as the starting point guard on a top division Bundeslega team.
In her off-seasons, she has been actively involved in coaching high school-aged AAU teams, as well as at summer camps and individual skills instructional clinics. While in Ireland, she worked closely with local schools to implement basketball programs and volunteer coached many underage club teams.
A native of Clinton, New Jersey, Altman
attended Voorhees High School where she was named First Team
All State and remains the school’s all-time leading scorer.
She teaches sophomore and junior history classes.
