Hello and thank you for your interest
in Blair boys’ lacrosse. The Blair lacrosse program
was founded in 1972, and builds upon a number of ideals that
have well served Blair students over the years. We want the
school to feel proud about the strength of our program, for
our players to enjoy a fun and educational environment, and
to foster a winning atmosphere for players, parents, and
fans. I am pleased that our student-athletes take responsibility
for meeting these ideals, and that as the program grows,
we will continue to improve in all of these areas. It is
an exciting time to be part of our program as we are an up
and coming squad with many strong sophomores and juniors.
Each spring, we take a week long trip to Hilton Head, South
Carolina to compete against other boarding schools and gear
up for the season ahead. It is a great chance for the younger
members of the team to bond with the veterans, play a lot
of lacrosse and enjoy some warm weather.
This year will mark
our eleventh in the New Jersey Rizk division, which combines
both public and private schools, and offers excellent competition.
In addition, we face stiff competition outside of Rizk,
competing in the Mid Atlantic Prep League (MAPL) against
some of the top teams in New Jersey including The Peddie
School, The Hun School of Princeton, and The Lawrenceville
School, all of which are perennial members of the New Jersey
Star-Ledger Top 15. In addition, many of our players go on
to compete at the college level. We have sent players to
Amherst College, Drew University, Hartwick College, Middlebury
College, Lehigh University, Gettysburg College and Lafayette College to name
just a few.
The boys’ lacrosse season runs
from our Spring Break trip in late March through mid-May.
If you have any questions or are interested in learning more
about our great program, please feel free to email me anytime
at ryersm@blair.edu. I look forward to hearing from you.
