4/25 - Blair Beats Mo Beard in Nail Biter
Coach Melissa Erne reports: In an incredible match against Morristown Beard on April 25, scoring went back and forth for the last two minutes of regulation. With two minutes remaining, Morristown Beard was up 9-8. Mollie Dawson scored with 1:37 left to tie the game at 9-9. Morristown Beard scored once again with 1:22 on the clock, but Mollie Dawson, assisted by a breakaway from Lynn Chien, scored with 19 seconds left to push the game into overtime. Two three-minute overtime periods were played, and both went scoreless. The third overtime was sudden victory. Morristown Beard had an early breakaway, which was shut down by Staci Alario, Kat Hood and Khia White. After recovering the ball in our defensive end, Khia carried it the length of the field where the winning goal was scored by Mollie and assisted by Sarah. In terms of stats, Mollie Dawson scored five goals, Sarah Marcincin scored four, and Khia White scored two. Mary Casella had 10 saves.
