Three Blair wrestlers competed in the 18th Maccabiah Games in Israel

Three Blair wrestlers competed in the 18th Maccabiah Games held in Israel this summer. The games are seen by many worldwide as the “Jewish Olympics.” It is an international sports festival that takes place every four years and is third largest sporting even in the world. Blair Academy had two Alumni and one current student represented on team USA. Zach Hammond ’04 won bronze medals at 120kg in both Freestyle and Greco. Max Meltzer ’03 won a Gold medal at 74kg in Greco, bettering his 2005 silver medal performance at 66kg. Current Blair student, Evan Silver ’11, won Gold medals in both Freestyle and Greco. We would like to applaud and congratulate these fine Blair athletes for their performances at the Games.
