Powerhouse Pitchers in Summer Showcases
Both Blair Aces Fire 60+
Veteran softball coach Carolyn
Conforti-Browse ’79 reports the following: “This
July, both Blair softball pitchers participated in several
college showcases. Rising senior Alexandra
Magistro ’10, who pitches for the Easton
Valley Waves, performed in front of 80 coaches and hit
63 m.p.h. on her fastball and curveball multiple times
at showcases in Pennsbury, Pa., Devens, Mass, and Binghamton
N.Y. She was also named MVP at one of her tournaments.
Rising sophomore Michelle Fox ’12,
who plays for the NJ Rocks, was the most accomplished in
her age group at the Binghamton showcase, recording 60
m.p.h. in front of 50 coaches. She also hit one over the
fence. Of course, both pitchers are indebted to their catchers,
rising juniors Kelsey Stevens ’11 and Ashley
Iannone ’11, both of whom worked hard
to make their aces look great.”
