4/25/12 - Mark Grey's Win Raises Blair's Record To 21 & 3 For USA All Star Teams
With his 3-1 win Friday, April 20 in Iowa for the USA Dream Team, Mark Grey brought Blair Academy's all time record for USA All Star teams to a remarkable 21 wins and just 3 losses.
In the process, Blair wrestlers have secured 78 team points for USA All Star teams, while yielding just 9 team points to the USA teams' opponents.
Mark Grey's win at 132 lbs contributed to the USA Dream Team's 40-7 victory, one in which the USA team won eleven matches, while its opponent, the Iowa All Star team, won two.
Blair's history in USA All Star events goes back to 2001, when Cory Cooperman and Steve Mocco won against the Iowa All Star team in the Dream Team event and against the Pennsylvania All Star team at Dapper Dan.
Over the years, such now legendary Blair wrestlers as Mark Perry, Zack Esposito, Kurt Backes, Adam Frey, Kellen Russell and Ed Ruth have wrestled for the USA All Star teams in the Dream Team event and/or at Dapper Dan, the annual Pennsylvania version of these All Star dual meets. In fact, current Blair Assistant Coach Jared Platt won for the USA Dream Team against the Ohio All Stars in 2007.
To date, Blair wrestlers who wrestled for USA High School All Star teams have gone on to win a stunning 8 NCAA Championships and have captured a remarkable 21 NCAA All American places, to include not only the 8 firsts, but also 5 seconds and 5 thirds. In other words, 86% of their NCAAs places have been in the top 3, a Blair trademark.
4/20/12 - Mark Grey will wrestling on April 20, 2012, in the 15th Annual Dream Team Classic an event that selects wrestlers all over the country competing against an Iowa All-Star Team.
Below is the updated lineups for the Dream Team Wrestling Classic set for April 20 at Iowa City West High School, beginning at 7 p.m. The dual will be a prelude to the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials April 21-22 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City. more...

FILA Juniors is an Olympic-style tournament for U S wrestlers 20 years old and younger, and annually draws many aspiring freshmen, redshirt freshmen and sophomores from the NCAA ranks as well as wrestlers of similar experience who are in junior college or at the U S Olympic Training Camp.
