Ever Always: The Campaign for Blair

Eileen and Barry Smith ’67 have always supported Blair Academy. In fact, Barry made his first gift to the Blair Fund in 1969, just two years after he graduated. Still, it wasn’t until their son Dan ’09 came to Blair in 2005 that they realized how critical their annual gift is to making the Blair experience a reality for him and for every Blair student.

This year Barry and Eileen serve as Co-Chairs of the Blair Parents Fund. “Because our son is involved in the Blair community in so many ways — in the classroom, as a class officer, and in athletics — running cross country, wrestling, and rowing — we now realize why the true cost of his education far exceeds the actual cost of tuition. The Blair Fund is vital to providing the rigorous academic and rich extra-curricular program that the School offers its students today.

Barry notes, “My brother, Don Jay Smith ’65, has long been one of Blair’s most dedicated Class Representatives working to support the Blair Fund. Now, many years after my graduation, Eileen and I join him in helping to build the strong annual foundation upon which every great school depends.”
