The Campaign for Blair Academy is all about the students of today and tomorrow. As a Trustee, I have had the privilege of participating in the planning for this effort and at the same time watching the school make great progress under the combined leadership of outstanding board chairs and a committed Headmaster. Now is the time for a comprehensive fundraising effort that will provide the facilities and financial support necessary for Blair to take its rightful place among the finest independent boarding schools in the nation. It will enable us to improve the students’ in-class and out-of-class experiences, strengthen our faculty, build our endowment and ensure the school’s fiscal health through a dynamic annual Blair Fund.

This campaign perpetuates what is timeless about Blair: passionate teachers dedicated to developing students of character. Arthur Hamlin ’29, in his history of Blair Academy, wrote, “The masters…cared, and they accepted nothing less than my best. They set me on a course of academic achievement…in turn leading to a career that has given me every opportunity to fulfill the promise they saw, and indeed much more. Today I can still say, as I did then…I love Blair.” As a Blair student for six years beginning in the seventh grade, I enthusiastically echo these words.

Thanks to generous early leadership support, we have made substantial additions to the campus and have achieved important gains in annual support through the Blair Fund. We can all be proud of Blair and its remarkable potential. Now is the time for the entire Blair Family—alumni, parents and friends—to rise to the challenge before us and realize that potential.
