- When
students returned
from their spring break last week,
they saw a red steel framework rising behind the old gym,
its vivid outline bringing the long-awaited Activity and
Athletic Center into sudden reality. In the few days since,
the broad roof over the field house and squash courts has
taken shape, and a floor has materialized beneath. And while
this new construction moves along, the Walker Gym is being
prepared for its extensive renovation, set to begin in May.
Since
December 31, the School has received $2 million in new
gifts and pledges, now bringing the campaign total to
$38 million towards our goal of $50 million. The majority
of alumni, parents and friends are participating in Ever
Always: The Campaign for Blair through increased and new
gifts to the Blair Fund; many have also made capital gifts
to the new facility and Blair’s endowment.
