Spring 2010 Update
The Blair College
Fair
The Blair College Office will host the fourth
annual Blair college fair on the evenings of April 21 and
22 from 7-8:30 p.m. in the field house of Hardwick Hall.
With over 30 colleges and universities from all parts of
the country and the UK in attendance each night, the Blair
fair will be a great opportunity for our juniors and interested
sophomores to learn more about a wide-ranging and impressive
group of schools. Junior parents are welcome to attend. Should
you have any questions, feel free to contact Joe Mantegna,
associate dean of College Counseling and Blair fair organizer,
at mantej@blair.edu.
June SAT I/II Reminder
Remember that if
your son or daughter plans on sitting for the June SAT I/II,
he or she should register for a test site near your home. Please
contact the College Office with questions.
Summer Visits for Juniors
The summer is
a great time to see schools…we encourage
you and your child to see as many colleges as possible during
the summer in an effort to help finalize your son or daughter’s
list. Remember to call to arrange interviews/information
sessions/campus tours at all the schools you hope to visit.
Doing so is an important part of demonstrated interest that
colleges sometimes use to assess a student’s seriousness
about a school!
Naviance
Remember to take advantage of
our Web-based college counseling program. You can follow your
son’s or daughter’s
college process by accessing Naviance, which is located in
the Helpful
Websites of the College Counseling section of the
Blair homepage. Using your child’s password, you can
visit the site in order to keep current with your child’s
progress.
