ACTA Arrives!
Dedicated to Chaplain Peter Amerman

Seniors received their ACTA yearbooks on May 18, with underclassmen scheduled to receive theirs in the days thereafter. At School Meeting, Chaplain Peter Amerman was honored with the first of the 2007 yearbooks, which were dedicated to him in honor of his retirement. Peter has served the School for 38 years as chaplain and soccer coach, among his other duties.

The dedication includes well wishes from faculty members Sam Bacon, Craig Evans and Dave Low, as well as tributes from students. Mat Cable ’09 said, “He is a very intelligent man who is open to religious skepticism and has obviously put much thought into his beliefs and convictions.”

Sam noted, “Peter Amerman seems ageless to me…[he] encourages in all of us, student and faculty alike, so many things that are in themselves without age, without end.”

Craig reminisced, “He was one of the sillier members of the Faculty Players, willing to play any part, even his final performance as a zombie Santa. What a way to go out!”

Dave spoke for many: “We shall miss his comfort and solace during times of sadness and stress, and his wonderful ability to help us not take ourselves too seriously. We thank him for all that he has given to this school for almost four decades.”
