Community-Wide Book Drive a Success

Blair students coordinated a school-wide book drive to benefit Kurdistan Save the Children Youth Centers and the University of Sulaimaniya in Iraq. A total of 16 boxes of books were donated by Blair parents, students, alumni and faculty. This peacemaking project was led by Blair alumna Melinda Perkins-Witter ’77, Blair’s community service program and the alumni office.

Kurdistan schools encourage English language studies beginning at the primary level, but there are very few English books to support this educational endeavor. A huge thank-you to all who contributed books to this worthwhile cause. Posted 10/31/06
