Blair Community Invites Public Support of CROP Walk

On October 15, under the auspices of the humanitarian agency Church World Service (CWS), members of the Blair Academy community participated in the 2006 season of CROP Hunger Walks. The local walk began and ended at Walker Gymnasium on Blair’s campus at 2 Park St., Blairstown. Members of the public joined Blair’s efforts toward this community fund-raising event that brought together people of all faiths to benefit local hunger-fighting. CROP is an acronym for Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty.

A portion of the funds raised here in town will go to the local food pantries of Blairstown. Contributions may still be made on-line at the CROP Walk Friends Asking Friends Web site, which can be accessed at www.cropwalk.org, or they may call 1-888-CWS-CROP. Updated 10/20/06
