Weekend Athletics Cancelled

Due to the weather forecast, all athletic contests for Saturday of Parents’ Weekend (October 28) have been postponed and are tentatively re-scheduled for Wednesday, November 8. The one exception at present is the 2:00 pm football game. A final decision will be made on this event on Saturday.

Update 10/28, 10:30 am: the football game will be played today at 2:00 pm.

Headmaster Chan Hardwick issued an email on Friday to parents and the Blair community, explaining, “A meeting this morning confirmed the forecast, and after discussions with our counterparts at The Hill School -- which goes from our games to a two-day Long Weekend, while we are off on Monday -- prudently decided to postpone all athletic contests for Saturday and tentatively re-schedule them for Wednesday, November 8th. The one exception to this decision is at present football, a sport that traditionally defies bad weather outside of electrical storms, etc. And we would probably postpone football if an easy make-up date were available. The final decision on the football game will come tomorrow, but it is probable that we shall go forward and brave the elements, and game time is still 2:00.” Posted 10/27/06
