Shades of the soul

Two colors stand forgotten now that White has gained control.
Red is unwanted even though it stands for a communal goal,
And Blue is apathetic; it ignores the tyrant hold.

But when did we forget to seek colors of our soul??

Home was what we shared; the earth is what we had.
Never did we fight for possession or for land.
Now blood will spill over an insignificant speck of sand.

Why did we forget to seek the colors of our soul??

Happiness once was peace,
Achieved by meditation and by love.
Now happiness is Green,
Achieved by power and by guns.

Lonely in vanguard I stand forgetting the colors of rage, selfishness, and man.
Transparent my body remains, distinguishing me from what may seem to be sane.
When it is dark, white appears in the sky, threatening and mocking my confusing demise.
But in the morning when the sun comes up, I revive…

And then I begin to search for the colors of my soul.
