Art Teacher Exhibits Work in Local Gallery

Art teacher Rita Baragona will participate in a benefit art show in Hackettstown, N.J., at Arts Off Main, a gallery at 128 Willow Grove Street, now through May 3.

The exhibit, “Vision for Julia’s,” honors the late Jean Zipser, the founder and president of the board of directors for The Pahaquarry Foundation, Inc., and mayor of nearby Pahaquarry Township, who, through art-related projects just like this one, hoped to raise funds to turn the Julia Orthwine House into an artists’ and writers’ refuge; the building is located in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Jean directed the annual art exhibit shown for many years in Blair’s Romano Gallery – The Pahaquarry Paint Out. Gallery hours for “Vision for Julia’s” are 1-5 p.m., Monday-Friday, and 12-4 p.m. on Sunday.
