Hampshire Field is Dedicated

Hampshire Field was dedicated under the lights during Homecoming on October 6, with Blair’s football team winning against Mercersburg, 41-6. Christine Evans ’08 sang the “Star-Spangled Banner,” while Headmaster Chan Hardwick introduced all those who made possible the new athletic field, including members of the Hanson and Imperatore families, as follows:

Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey B. Hanson
Mr. and Mrs. Jon F. Hanson
Mr. and Mrs. James E. Hanson
Mr. and Mrs. Harold J. Imperatore
Jeff Hanson ’04, Courtney Hanson ’06
Jenna Imperatore ’06, Alex Imperatore ’07
Kyle Hanson ’08, Chris Imperatore ’08

Mr. Hardwick asked the alumni, fans and Blair community in attendance to “help celebrate this moment and dedicate these beautiful new facilities, the latest to join Blair’s historic campus.”

A special tribute at half-time honored Coach Steve Kuk, the veteran Blair coach who led Blair’s football program from 1942-1960 and coached some of the famous Blair teams during that time. Many of Coach Kuk’s players were on hand to celebrate and cheer on the Bucs from the stands they contributed in his memory. Speakers were Dominick Desiderio ’52, Ronald Melnik ’52 and Robert Novogratz ’55.
