“Tri for Peace” Triathlon Raises Funds

Margaret DeOliveira ’09 and Rebecca Merrifield ’10 organized an on-campus spring triathlon, “Tri for Peace,” as a fundraiser for the Invisible Children Organization aiding orphans in Uganda. Their project – which raised over $1,100 – is an offshoot of the all-girls Julie Foudy Soccer Camp they attended last summer. In addition to soccer training, the camp emphasizes leadership skills for women, with each attendee challenged to perform some type of community service project after the camp.
