2008-2009 Making A Splash at Easterns
Watch the Video: New School Record for 100 Backstroke
Head coach Rick Clarke reports that Blair swimmer Hayley Anderson ’10 entered two events in the 2009 Eastern Interscholastic Swimming and Diving Championship: “She did her life-time best in both events, breaking the school record in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:00.0. She missed getting the long-standing 100 free style school record by 0.02 seconds. So it was a really good meet for Hayley!”
The Easterns event, held At LaSalle University in Philadelphia, February 20-21, is one of the most prestigious and competitive high school meets in the country; it is the largest Prep School aquatic event in the United States for both men’s and women’s swimming and diving competitions. More national and prep school swimming records are set during this competition than any other meet in the nation.
