2008-2009 BuzzKill Makes Show Biz News
The film BuzzKill – directed by Steven Kampmann who co-wrote this independent feature with Matt Smollon – was awarded the People’s Choice Award for Best Feature at the Cape May (N.J.) Film Festival in November. Filmed in New Jersey and California in the summer of 2007, the production stars Daniel Raymont and Darrell Hammond (of Saturday Night Live fame) and also features Steven’s wife Judith Kahan Kampmann, director of media studies, as well as Blair librarian Holly Newcomb.
As for Judith, she has been invited to attend the Roundabout Theatre Company’s one-night only gala concert reading of A Little Night Music, the 1973 Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler musical which won the Tony Award for Best Musical that year. This special production on January 12, 2009, stars Vanessa Redgrave, Natasha Richardson, Victor Garber, Christine Baranski, Laura Benanti and others. Judith (known professionally as Judy Kahan), was in the original Broadway cast of the show in the role of Fredrika Armfeldt.
