View Video Tour of New Blair Commons

Headmaster Chan Hardwick announced at School Meeting on March 25 that the new student center is open for business. Students and faculty, fresh from Spring Break, made a beeline for the new facility to gain a first-hand look. To celebrate the occasion, milk and cookies were served in the canteen. The student center – to be officially dedicated “Blair Commons” at a May 8 ceremony – is a gift given by the Romano family. The complex encompasses the canteen, post office, study area, lounge, school store and college counseling suite and is the nucleus of campus community life. Its bright roomy spaces provide students and faculty with places to study, hold meetings, grab a snack and relax with friends; the Blair family can make itself at home there.

The completion of Blair Commons and the new athletic center mark the fulfillment of one of the Ever Always Campaign’s major goals: to provide the facilities necessary to strengthen the student experience. The Campaign, which concludes on June 30, 2009, is within $2.5 million of its $50 million goal.
