The Fall All School Vespers on October 10 in the First Presbyterian Church of Blairstown featured guest preacher Michael L. Lindvall.

Rev. Lindvall was raised in small-town Minnesota and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and Princeton Theological Seminary, he currently serves as the pastor of the Brick Presbyterian Church in New York City. He has previously served as pastor to congregations in Ann Arbor, Michigan and Northport, Long Island. He is a writer whose essays, book reviews, sermons and fiction have appeared in a variety of church-related and secular periodicals. He has written two novels, The Good News from North Haven and Leaving North Haven, both currently published by Crossroad/Carlisle Books.

Rev. Lindvall recently completed two new books, a volume of accessible theology entitled A Geography of God, published by Westminster/John Knox Press and What Did Jesus Do? – A Crash Course on His Life and Times, published by Sterling Press. An avid reader, sailor and motorcyclist, he is married to Terri Vaun Smith, a kindergarten teacher and artist. They have three children – Madeline, a television producer in New York; Benjamin, a New York musician and music producer; and Grace, a sophomore at the University of Michigan. The Lindvalls make their home in Manhattan, but still spend summers on the shores of Lake Michigan
