Speaking Contest Winners Announced

The winners of the 2009 senior public speaking contest are as follows:
1st place: Hua Thamjaroenporn ’09
2nd place: Keefer Taylor ’09
3rd place: Eileen Xie ’09

English teacher Tom Parauda, who oversees the annual competition, explained, “The contest is offered as a competitive but fun way to encourage seniors to address their peers in a formal environment. Each of the seven to eight sections of public speaking presents a student as a representative for that class. All seniors, along with various faculty and underclassmen, meet to hear those speeches in the DuBois Theater of Armstrong-Hipkins Center for the Arts.”
