“Art in Unusual Places”
Warming Up Winter
The Blair community embraces the notion of art appreciation in the month of January. As part of a whimsical Art in Unusual Places “movement,” Chinese students presented music and dance performances at a recent School Meeting, while cast members of Once Upon a Mattress (coming up in February) stepped lively in the rotunda of Armstrong-Hipkins Center for the Arts.
On Saturday, January 23, students, faculty and staff are invited to don their hats as “poets, musicians, spoken word artists and interpretive dance mavens,” as English teacher Micki McMillan plans a coffee house in Annie Hall that evening. She and Judith Kampmann, director of video studies, will travel with a dozen students to see the Broadway hit, Hair! the next day. The dreary days of January are brightening!
