Students Discover First-Hand:
“The Play’s the Thing”

English teacher Tom Parauda and 50 of his students enjoyed a performance of Hamlet at The Shakespeare Theater of New Jersey at Drew University on October 2, thanks to funding established in 2004 by Dr. Alan Jeffrey, parent of Aron ’94. Dr. Jeffrey also established an annual award in memory of his mother – The Edyth Jeffrey Shakespeare Essay Prize – which is bestowed upon that Blair student most proficient in Shakespeare studies, based on an essay related to the work of William Shakespeare. Additional funding from Dr. Jeffrey supports trips to theatre performances of Shakespearean works – such as this recent one of Hamlet – as well as school productions of Shakespeare’s plays.
