Bucs Beat Mercersburg
100th Win for Football Coach Jim Stone
On October 10, the Blair football team took on Mercersburg Academy on Hampshire Field, soundly defeating the competition, 38-10. A Homecoming crowd cheered the Bucs to victory – the 100th win for head football coach and athletic director Jim Stone.
Game Recap 10/10/09:
The Blair football team won its first MAPL League game on Saturday night with a victory over Mercersburg 38 -10. Blair’s defense was the key to the victory shutting down the Blue Storm’s wide open attack. The defensive front 8 of Blair pressured the Mercersburg quarterback all night forcing him to rush his throws. Duncan Anderson led the team with 8 tackles and a sack while Luc Yocum and Griffin Ahsler had 5 each.
This unit consists of defensive linemen, Collin Stahlkrantz, Brent Bunting and Dom Zook and Linebackers, Mac MacLoed, Griffin Ahsler, Luc Yocum, Duncan Anderson and Nick Flora. The secondary of Lovell Perdum, Dillon Romain and Andrew Iacocca also had a strong game.
On offense, the Bucs were led by Dillon Romain who rushed for 153 yards on 22 carries and Mack MacLoed who had 47 yards on 8 carries.
Kicker Matt Marcincin also had a fine night as well as he connected on 33 yard field goal and was perfect on his extra points.
This week Blair travels to Hun for a big MAPL League match up at 2:30 on Saturday.
