Basketball States: Feb. 24 & 25

Blair wrestlers took to the mats on Saturday, February 20, at Blair’s Field House, hosting the NJISAA State Meet and taking home the Team Champion honors. Blair saw 12 wrestlers in the finals, with 11 earning the title of Prep State Champ. Brad Bishop, Brooks Black, Mike Evans, Mark Grey, Max Hovolbek, Austin Ornsbee, Russell Parsons, Todd Preston, Jesse Shanaman, Evan Silver and Chris Villalonga each won at their respective weight class. Jack Wedholm finished second, Marino Orlandi earned third and Dillon Hoffman earned a fourth place. Chris Villalonga was named the Tournament Outstanding Wrestler. Blair will be back at it on Friday and Saturday (2/27 and 28) at the Prep National Tournament at Lehigh’s Stabler Arena.

Blair girls’ varsity basketball defeated Hun in the Semifinals of Prep States for basketball, 68-44; they travel to Peddie on Wednesday (2/24) for the championship game at 5:00 p.m.

The boys’ basketball team bettered Lawrenceville in the semifinals 77-65; they play Peddie on Thursday (2/25) at home at 6:00 p.m. for the boys’ top spot.
