Students Attend Lecture at Princeton

Eight AP Biology students, along with their teacher, Blair Buck, traveled to Princeton University on November 2. Blair reports, “The students and I went down to hear a lecture by Nobel laureate Eric F. Wieschaus, Ph.D., a molecular biology and embryology professor at Princeton. He presented the results of several mutation experiments dealing with the discovery of genes in fruit flies which control embryonic development in all animals. He won the Nobel prize in medicine in 1995, along with another biologist, for this work. Dr Wieschaus spoke to about 500 high school students from all around New Jersey.”
