Public Speaking Contest Covers Range of Topics
Winners Announced
The senior public speaking contest took place on May 3, in the DuBois Theater of Armstrong-Hipkins Center for the Arts. English teacher Tom Parauda, who oversees the annual competition, explained, “The contest is offered as a competitive but fun way to encourage seniors to address their peers in a formal environment. Each of the sections of public speaking presents a student as a representative for that class. All seniors, along with various faculty and underclassmen, meet to hear those speeches.” Winners are as follows: Connor Delaney (1st place), Clara Kim (2nd place) and Saul Sparber (3rd place). The judges consisted of faculty members from various disciplines.
