David Sokol Speaks at Blair
Entrepreneurship Series Continues

David Sokol, Chairman of the Board and CEO of MidAmerican Energy Holdings Co. (a Midwestern utility owned by Berkshire Hathaway Inc.) and CEO of NetJets, was the featured speaker at Blair’s Herman Hollerith Lecture on Entrepreneurship on April 20.

Mr. Sokol, a past Blair parent and Trustee, has held a number of positions in the independent power industry and founded a waste-to-energy company in the 1980s. He holds a B.S. degree in civil engineering from the University of Nebraska, Omaha. Blair’s Hollerith lecture series is named for entrepreneur and engineer Herman Hollerith. Mr. Sokol is often mentioned as a likely successor to Warren Buffett at Berkshire. For more information on him, click on this link to a recent article in The Wall Street Journal.
