Students Present Program at Skeptics
In June, a group of 14 Blair students and faculty members, including Monie Hardwick and Andrew Sykes, traveled to Africa on a two-week trip led by Quint Clarke ’87, a history teacher at Blair well known for his summer travel adventures. Most of the trip saw the group performing community service, building a classroom for an impoverished school, and visiting some of the worst slums in the world. The travelers presented a Society of Skeptics program on September 21, concerning their experience in Kenya.
According to Quint, “Highlights included meeting President Obama’s grandmother (at least for some), teaching classes to both elementary and high school students, living for five days in a remote village without electricity or running water, seeing incredible wildlife (including a lion kill a wildebeest), and meeting many wonderful and amazing people.”
