Gulf Oil Spill Addressed at Skeptics
 Dr. James Buddy Powell, executive director of the Sea to Shore Alliance, was the featured Society of Skeptics speaker on November 9. Powell spoke on the topic of the gulf oil spill. According to the organization’s website, the Sea to Shore Alliance was created to form a partnership of specialists and stakeholders with the expertise, passion and vision to help reverse the degradation of our aquatic coastal environment, loss of species and diversity. The outcome is to better ensure the health and productivity of coastal ecosystems not only for the animal species that live there, but also the humans that depend on them for their health, recreation and livelihoods.
