Speaking Contest Winners Announced

The senior public speaking contest will take place on Monday, May 9, at 7 p.m.in the DuBois Theater of Armstrong-Hipkins Center for the Arts. English teacher Tom Parauda, who oversees the annual competition, explained that many times, the topics reflect a bittersweet quality indicative of all that is currently going on in the lives of these soon-to-be graduates. Judges consist of faculty members from various disciplines.

Winners are as follows: Jonathan Lucas (1st place), Kelsey Stevens (2nd place) and Cynthia Buchanan (3rd place). Other seniors who participated were Nick Hogan, Chris Morales and Ashley Strunk.
