News & Events 2011-2012 Local Artists Show at Romano Gallery
December 5, 2011 - January 7, 2012
An exhibition of multimedia creative works from Vicki Diamond and Jeanine Erickson will be on display in the Romano Gallery from December 5. An artists’ reception was held on Thursday, December 8. Glass, geodes, fossils, metals, gourds, alpaca and llama fiber, goat skins, stone, cement and beeswax are included among the natural elements with which the artists work to create beautiful pieces that express the fluidity of nature and the universality of simple form.
Vicki Diamond was born in Fukuoka, Japan and spent her childhood in Naples, Italy before making her way to northwestern, NJ, where she now lives. Her works are nonrepresentational explorations of texture, color, shape, and size. Her work has been exhibited in the Paterson Museum in New Jersey and at the Instituto Universitario di Architettura in Venice, Italy.
Jeanine Erickson is a stained glass artisan whose glasswork can include art glass, hammered copper sheet and wire, ceramics, agate slices, and fused glass pieces. She makes boxes, kaleidoscopes, panels, and mirrors. She has been involved in glasswork for twenty years, and holds a BA in Music Education and an MA in Music Theory and Composition from Montclair University.
These sculptures will be on display from December 5-16, 2011 and January 2-7, 2012. Click here for a full listing of the new season.
