Blair makes Playoffs in History Bowl

On Saturday, December 10, the Blair History Bowl Team travelled to White Plains High School to compete in the Lower Hudson Regional History Bowl Tournament. In a very competitive field of 27 teams, Blair made the playoffs for the first time in School history. After winning their first playoff match, the team advanced to the semi-finals where they lost to Team Tribeca, the eventual champions of the entire tournament. Blair tied for fifth place, an excellent showing given the strength of the field.

Robbie Williams ’12, Dom Margiotta ’12 and Chris Sabaitis ’12 all made significant contributions to the success of the team. These three seniors also competed in the History Bee, an individual competition held on the same day. Robbie made the finals of the History Bee, finishing sixth overall, and both Robbie and Dom qualified for the National History Bee in April.

Following the success of this History Bowl and Bee, the Blair quiz team is preparing for the National History Bee and Bowl in April.
