Video Studies Teacher Exhibits in the Netherlands

“Lucid Dreaming”, an exhibition of the work of Nina Yuen, director of video studies, opened on Saturday October 15, 2011 at Stedelijk Museum Schiedam, The Netherlands.

The website for the show notes “in her films, Nina Yuen visualizes an inner world, a dreamy world in which thoughts and feelings stream onward like words in a book. Or like the surge of a river, the rolling waves of the sea. Just as thoughts and feelings can rage, the ocean pounds, frothing, on the coast… Yuen’s inner world is always an outer world. Culture and nature intersect with a mesmerizing effect.” In the installation at Stedelijk, she makes a spatial installation around four films, all linking the past and the present.

Nina studied fine arts at Harvard University. She is represented by the galleries Juliètte Jongma in Amsterdam and Lombard Freid Projects in New York.
