Parent Newsletter: May 2005
DEAR BLAIR PARENTS AND FAMILIES,
Although the weather is cooler than we would hope for, the campus is beautiful with lush greens and a kaleidoscope of pastels. Spring Arts Weekend was even better than expected with an amazing celebration of student performances, presentations and displays of fine art. If you missed “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” you may see the show this Saturday and Sunday, May 7 & 8, 4:00 pm in the outdoor theatre (DuBois Theatre in case of inclement weather).
Listed below are upcoming events and activities and plenty of photos from Spring Arts Weekend.

SPRING FLING
A day of fun-filled activities is in store for Blair and the local community on Sunday, May 15, 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. A 5k road race through the Blair campus, firemen’s water polo, a BED RACE and an extreme combo of a 40-foot climbing wall and bungee jumping are a few of the activities planned. The spring celebration, sponsored by Blair’s Blue and White Key Society and the Main Street Association, is actually a rescheduling of the Main Street Fall Fest, cancelled last September due to flood conditions.
ATHLETICS
Currently, some spring athletic teams are making their way toward the state finals, including baseball, softball and boys' lacrosse. Check out Blair's athletic calendar below for dates and times of games.

PARENTS HONORED
Blair Trustees recently recognized Sandy and Elsie McAdoo, parents of Colin ’02 and Molly ’04, for leading the Parents Fund Group for the third and final year. They have been instrumental in increasing parent participation and support of the annual fund. During the last two years, parent participation has gone from 52% to 74%, and this year we hope to see it get even closer to 100%.
The McAdoo’s urge EVERY parent to make a gift to the School: “No matter the size of your gift, your participation is appreciated. When you participate in the Blair Fund, it is a vote of confidence for the School.” Next week, parent volunteers will call parents who haven’t given yet, so please make your gift today or when you receive the call.
Additional thanks go to all of this year’s Parent Fund Group volunteers. To make a gift or see a list of parent volunteers, go to our new Parents Fund page at:
