Parent Newsletter: November 2004

Autumn Greetings,
October came to an end with the Red Sox winning the World Series, a beautiful harvest moon and lunar eclipse, and a weekend of Halloween festivities. As the month of November unfolds, please take a moment to read about current happenings at Blair. If you have any comments or suggestions for my next monthly newsletter, please feel free to contact me.

Regards, SUE

HOWLIN’ GOOD FUN ON HALLOWEEN
It is amazing to see how creative students can be with their costumes, considering most of them were put together at the last minute. See some great photos of this year’s Halloween costumes in the News & Events section of the Web site.

FALL PLAY
Come watch students perform in Tom Stoppard’s hilarious comedy. “On the Razzle” opens this week with performances 11/4-11/6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Armstrong-Hipkins Center for the Arts. Read more about it in the News & Events section of the Web site.

WEEKEND ACTIVITIES
If your son or daughter complains that there’s nothing to do at Blair on the weekends, check out IMPORTANT DATES, and you’ll find out otherwise.

PEDDIE DAY
Join parents and alumni at Blair on Saturday, NOVEMBER 13, for a day of fun, food and games. Don’t forget to reserve a tailgating spot (near the football field) by clicking http://alumni.blair.edu/events/event_details.asp?id=1934

Not only is this a great way to end the fall athletic season, it also ensures that you get the best parking on campus! Team or Senior Parents...how about combining forces and hosting your favorite team or a few of your son or daughter’s friends?

TIRED OF GOING TO THE SAME OLD RESTAURANT?
For a listing of area restaurants, beauty salons, florists, places of worship, etc., go to the Area Information page in the Parents section.

THE TRUTH ABOUT BOARDING SCHOOLS
Blair participated in The Association for Boarding Schools’ (TABS) survey to find out why students who attend boarding schools have a greater advantage than those attending public and day schools. To find out the results of the survey, go to http://www.schools.com/theTruth/truth.cfm. To read more about TABS, go to http://www.schools.com.

Please let us know if you have any e-mail address changes by contacting lists@blair.edu.
