Car Raffle Winner Announced
 We
are delighted to announce that the winners of the 2009 Blair
Parent Car Raffle are Bob and Tracy Connolly of Troy, New York.
Long-time family friends of Blair football star Dion
Lewis ’09, who will be a starter for the
University of Pittsburgh this fall, Bob purchased the ticket
on Peddie Day. The Connolly family attended every home football
game this year and truly consider themselves to be part of
the Blair community. The winning ticket, number 175, was sold
by Rich Hoffman, father of Dillon ’10 and Maggie ’11.
Ordinarily Bob would not have purchased
a car raffle ticket, but last November, he found a $100 bill
in a convenience store parking lot. He inquired repeatedly
if anyone had reported the missing bill, but no one ever did.
Rather than keeping the money for himself, he supported Blair
with the purchase of a raffle ticket. To his amazement, he
became the lucky winner of a Mercedes SLK 300 valued at $48,275,
and being a good husband, he is giving the car to his wife! |
