Craig Hall, Chief Advancement Officer
Craig Hall came to Blair in 2014 as the School’s chief advancement officer. An accomplished fundraising executive who has worked with many independent schools and non-profit organizations as a principal at Graham-Pelton Consulting (2001-2014) and vice president at Community Counselling Service (1991-2001), he has more than 20 years of development experience.
Over the course of his career, Craig has managed many successful campaigns, planned studies, solicited major gifts, developed and recruited Boards and coached executives. A graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University, he has lived in Mendham, New Jersey, for many years with his wife, Trish, and their four children, Caroline, Catherine, Conrad and Cortland. Director of Advancement
Cara Mohlmann joined the Blair advancement team in November of 2004 after spending seven years at Lafayette College as assistant director of the annual fund. She began her career at Blair as the director of planned giving and stewardship. Cara took on the role of director of annual giving in July 2007–a great opportunity to use her annual fund background to work and grow the Blair Fund. In April 2010, Cara accepted the responsibility of overseeing the office management as director of advancement operations and annual giving. In 2012, she became Blair’s director of advancement.
Cara graduated from Lafayette College in 1997 with a BA in anthropology and sociology. In May 2010, she earned her master's degree in non-profit leadership from New England College. Assistant Director of Advancement for Parent Relations
Susan Long is Blair’s assistant director of advancement for parent relations. In that role, she oversees parent capital giving and coordinates the School’s parent programs and parent volunteer activities. As a Blair parent herself (Conner ’13
and Wyatt ’16
), she brings a unique perspective to her job, which involves traveling to see parents, as well as getting to know them at many on-campus events. Prior to coming to Blair in 2008, Susan worked at a number of non-profits, where she organized large fundraising events. She completed her undergraduate work in psychology at Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland, and lives in Blairstown, New Jersey, with her husband, Billy. Velma Lubliner, Assistant Director of Advancement for Capital Giving
Velma Lubliner is a proud Blair mom (Justin ’05 and Jenna ’09) who began working with the advancement office as a parent volunteer. She officially joined the staff in 2007, working with parent and alumni relations, became director of reunion giving in 2008 and is currently the assistant director of advancement for capital giving. She enjoys meeting and working with alumni and particularly likes to hear the joyful oral history of Blair from so many of them. Prior to coming to Blair, she taught music at The Evergreen Community School in Mountainhome, Pennsylvania, and worked at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City managing the Office Services department. Velma, who graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a BA in theatre arts, also taught voice in New York City and Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Bridget Hodakowski, Special Projects Coordinator
With a "Buccaneer" family lineage too long to
detail, Bridget Hodakowski '99 returned to Blair as a special projects
coordinator in 2014, having previously worked in the School’s advancement
office as assistant director of the annual fund. As a former member of Blair’s
Board of Governors, a current rep for the class of 1999 and proud alum, she
could not be happier to rejoin the ranks of Blair’s professional staff. Upon
graduating from the School in 1999, she attended Dickinson College, where she
received a BA in political science. She ultimately found her passion in
education while working as an assistant director in both undergraduate and
graduate admission at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey.

Maine, Director of Alumni Relations Kelley, Hardwick and now Fortunato...Jenny Maine has had the pleasure of working with Blair's past three Headmaster's and witnessing the tremendous growth in all aspects of the School. She started her Blair career in the admission office as the associate director from 1986 to 1991 and during that time frame, founded and coached Blair's first girls' soccer team. In 1991, she took a 10-year hiatus from Blair and moved back to her hometown in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she served as director of the annual fund, alumni director and special events coordinator for her alma mater, The Blake School. Back at Blair since 2001, Jenny serves as Blair’s director of alumni relations. She is married to Eric Maine ’77, and she has two children, Jack ’13, who now attends U.S. Military Academy - West Point and Harley '17. Meg Marsh, Director of Annual Giving
Meg joined Blair’s advancement office in October 2013. In her role as director of annual giving, she oversees Blair Fund outreach and works closely with the classes of 1930-1969, as well as the 1848 Society Committee. Although new to the independent-school world, Meg brings years of experience in higher-education fundraising.
Meg started her fundraising career as a student phonathon caller at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, from which she graduated with a BA in international relations and minored in French and Spanish. Jane Marvin, Director of Advancement Information Services
Jane Marvin joined Blair's advancement team in February 2013, after having been an associate in the communications department for two-and-a-half years. She spent the 10 years prior working with the School as a freelance consultant offsite.

Sharon Merrifield, Stewardship Coordinator
Sharon Merrifield joined Blair’s advancement office in 2012; however, she is no newcomer to the Blair community. She earned her BA degree in French from Davidson College in 1986, graduating Phi Beta Kappa, and first came to Blair as a faculty member, dorm advisor and coach in 1986. From 1990 to 1992, she worked as an associate in Blair’s admission office and served as an international student monitor. In the 1990s, she left Blair to continue her studies at Centenary College, earn her elementary education teaching certificate and work at Blairstown Elementary School as a fourth grade teacher and coordinator of the school’s talented and gifted program for eight years. An avid athlete, gardener and baker, Sharon lives on campus in the Parsonage with her husband, science teacher Rob Merrifield. She has two children, Rebecca ’10 andGraham ’14. Kristine Scialla, Advancement Associate
Kristine M. Scialla joined the Blair community in 2015 as an advancement associate for parent and alumni relations. In this role, she assists in the coordination of alumni and parent events, including Parents’ Weekend, Grandparents’ Day and Alumni Weekend, as well as parent volunteer activities. Kristine earned a bachelor’s degree in communication at William Paterson University. She also holds a New Jersey teaching certificate in elementary education. Prior to coming to Blair, Kristine worked at Pearson Education and taught language arts at the Academy of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey. Colleen Smarth, Assistant Director of Annual Giving
Colleen Smarth, who now serves as assistant director of annual giving, joined Blair as advancement associate in 2011, a position she held for four years. Her responsibilities include Blair Fund outreach and fundraising, and helping foster a culture of giving among Blair’s young alumni and senior class. Colleen is also editor of Class Notes for the Blair Bulletin. Prior to Blair, Colleen worked for two years at Sussex County Community College as a marketing associate and adjunct instructor. She holds a BA in journalism from Radford University and an MA in communication arts from William Paterson University. Colleen and her husband, Tim, reside in Fredon Township, New Jersey, with their two sons, Ronan ’18 and Aidan.

Melissa Sneed, Advancement Associate
Melissa Sneed joined Blair as advancement associate in September 2010. Her responsibilities include processing gifts, preparing donor reports and maintaining database records. Prior to Blair, Melissa worked for Centenary College as assistant director for the college’s strategic advancement department. In addition to working at Centenary, she is also an alumna, graduating in 2006 with a BA in history and certification in elementary education. Melissa and her husband, Jay, reside in Washington, New Jersey, with their twin daughters Alexa and Kylie. Her hobbies include photography, painting, drawing, music and spending time outdoors. Susan N. Staats, Advancement Associate
Susan N. Staats joined the Blair community in 1981 and works as advancement associate in the areas of major gift prospects and maintaining prospect tracking. Other responsibilities include itineraries and travel arrangements for advancement staff trips, record keeping for planned giving, assisting with maintaining the accounting records for capital gifts received, and the updating of historical documents regarding Trustees, covenants, deeds of trusts, resolutions, bylaw amendments, and Blair family genealogies.
