Simple Bequest

Adding Blair To Your Estate Planning

A majority of planned gifts are in the form of a will, or simple bequest. If you wish to include Blair as part of your estate planning, you may do so by naming Blair as a beneficiary under your Will or Revocable Living Trust. However, if your present planning documents are already in place, you may wish to consider adding a brief Codicil or Amendment to either document.

Here are two examples:

Specific Amount:
I, _________, hereby give and bequeath to Blair Academy, of Blairstown, New Jersey, the cash sum of $_____ dollars  [or substitute specific shares of stock or other property], for such needs of the Academy as its Board of Trustees may determine.

Percentage Amount:
I, _________, hereby give, devise and bequeath to Blair Academy, of Blairstown, New Jersey, an amount equivalent to _____ percent of the balance of my residuary estate, for such needs of the Academy as its Board of Trustees may determine.

Of course, you are also free to make any gifts to Blair in memory or in honor of any person(s) of your choice or for specific purposes that you believe would be helpful to Blair and the School’s ongoing strategic planning. If you wish to do so, please contact Velma Lubliner, assistant director of advancement for capital and planned giving, at (908) 362-6121, ext. 5634, so that any questions in this regard may be fully explored and answered to your satisfaction.
