A Huge Success: 681 Blair Fund Gifts Made on Day of Giving

Blair Academy’s second-annual Day of Giving was a huge success! On April 6, the 169th anniversary of the School’s founding, the Blair community contributed 681 gifts to the Blair Fund, surpassing the day’s ambitious participation goal of 676 gifts—one in honor of each teacher, staff member and student who currently lives, works and studies on Blair’s beautiful campus. The celebration of community spirit and Blair pride raised more than $200,000 for the Blair Fund in just 24 hours.

“This year’s Day of Giving was all about the Blair community,” said interim Director of Annual Giving Colleen Smarth. “It was a perfect opportunity to honor a teacher, coach, friend, dining hall staffer or other behind-the-scenes person who makes the Blair experience special.”

Blair’s advancement office sends its sincere thanks to every member of the Blair family who participated on this special day, especially Chairman of the Blair Board of Trustees Doug Kimmelman, who challenged alumni to donate and matched all gifts on Founder’s Day.

“Thank you to Blair students, faculty, alumni, parents and friends for your continuous support and love for this School,” Mrs. Smarth said.
