Seniors Lead Annual Gratitude Chapel

Posted: May 12, 2017

With just two weeks until graduation, seniors Nick Mosco ’17, Bobby Tanakulthon ’17 and Sade Johnson ’17 opened the School’s annual Gratitude Chapel by reflecting on the many people at Blair for whom they are thankful. Nick recognized his wrestling teammates and coach Brian Antonelli ’93; Bobby expressed gratitude to people beyond his group of close friends who have helped him along the way; and Sade especially thanked Associate Dean of Admission Leucretia Shaw, academic office administrative assistant Kecia Tillman and her beloved advisor, Chinese teacher David Facciani. “You have helped me in countless ways,” she said, “and I will miss you when I graduate.”

Sade concluded her remarks by inviting students to offer individual “shout-outs” to faculty and friends, and an outpouring of heartfelt gratitude followed, accompanied by much laughter, applause and even a few tears. As Chapel came to a close, Blair chaplain Russell Powell urged community members to continue to express their thanks to one another in the remaining weeks of the school year.
