Health & Wellness

The J. Brooks Hoffman ’36 Health Center is open to students seven days a week from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. After the center closes for walk-in traffic, a nurse remains in the Health Center and is available until the Health Center reopens each morning.

Staffed by registered and licensed practical nurses who provide care for illnesses and accidents under the direction of medical providers, the Health Center provides emergency and ongoing care, health education and counseling on a variety of health topics such as nutrition/diet, stress management, sexuality and substance use. The local hospital provides more advanced care if needed.

The Health Center also assists in arranging appointments with clinical psychologists and psychiatrists who contract independently with families, and provides safe, private space for these meetings to occur. To arrange an appointment for these services or explore other options, parents should contact the director of health services.
