Beyond the Buildings

Blair is about helping our students leave here as better scholars, better members of the community and better citizens than they might otherwise have become. If we are to attract these students, friendly, contemporary space is essential.

JOHN C. BOGLE '47, Chairman emeritus of Blair's board of trustees

Beyond the Buildings chart

The new buildings constructed on Blair’s campus over the last two decades have given academics, athletics, the arts and residential life the capacity to flourish.

With relationship-based learning and superior academic preparation ever at the heart of the Blair experience, the most important impact of Armstrong-Hipkins Center for the Arts (1997), Annie Hall (1999), Hardwick Hall (2008), Blair Commons (2008), Kathryn and Lakeside Halls (2013), and Chiang-Elghanayan Center for Innovation and Collaboration (2017) has been the creation of spaces where faculty members know and support students across all contexts: as scholars, artists, athletes, friends and leaders.

As a result of Blair’s growing reputation as a dynamic, community-focused boarding school, our annual number of applications has risen significantly and admission has become increasingly selective. At the same time, Blair has experienced greater philanthropic support from alumni, parents and friends of the School. Donors at every level recognize the importance of giving back and strengthening Blair for future generations.
