Campus Arts Facilities

Blair boasts outstanding facilities for its fine and performing arts programs.

Performance spaces

Armstrong-Hipkins Center for the Arts features the 500-seat DuBois Theatre and the intimate, black box-style Wean Theatre. The Robert J. Evans Open-Air Theatre is located adjacent to Blair Lake.

Rehearsal spaces

A music room, dance studio and multiple practice rooms are housed in Armstrong-Hipkins Center for the Arts.

2D studio spaces

Weber Hall currently houses spacious fine art studios and Blair’s fully equipped media lab. This fall, the fine arts department will move to the Center for Innovation and Collaboration (CIC), where open, light-filled art studios and glass-walled classrooms occupy the top floor. State-of-the-art media labs will be located on the CIC’s first and second floors.

3D studio spaces

Our Park Street maker space is directly adjacent to campus, and its high ceilings and open floor plan offer a venue where students can turn their ideas into reality. Once complete, the CIC will be home to a fully equipped ceramics studio (currently located in Weber Hall) and a second maker space.

Exhibit spaces

Armstrong-Hipkins Center for the Arts’ Romano Gallery exhibits the work of professional artists, as well as that of Blair students and faculty. In addition, student artwork is regularly displayed in The Black Canteen and Clinton Hall. Student art exhibitions will also become part of the fabric of life in the CIC and a visible example of Blair’s integration of art and technology across our curriculum.
